News in April 2017

Since August 2015, JSC “Wasserkabel Baltic” is implementing the project “Production Facility of Capillary Tube Mats in Latvia”.

In 2016, the company concluded contracts with German equipment manufacturers for the purchase of new production equipment. In March and April 2017, the equipment was tested at the manufacturers’ facilities,  and after the successful completion of these tests, the new equipment was delivered and installed in the new Wasserkabel production facility in Ventspils.

After installation, staff training was conducted on the new equipment.

In April, a series of tests were carried out at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim with materials that were made on the new equipment in order to carry out product testing for different application methods and, as a result of the tests, to demonstrate the efficiency and capacity of the system.

In order to inform the Latvian construction sector about the new technology, for which the required capillary mats and other components will be produced by JSC “Wasserkabel Baltic”, the company organised several informative seminars in 2016, as well as a seminar in Rezekne and the final event in Riga in April 2017.

Articles were prepared and published in the April 2017 issues of magazines “Deco”, “Latvijas Architektūra” and “Latvijas Būvniecība”. A video was produced and made available on the company’s website in several languages to inform professionals and potential clients about the Wasserkabel technology and its products.

A commemorative plaque was produced that informs the public that the project was implemented with the support of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.

A press release was circulated to inform the public about the final stage of launch of the Wasserkabel production facility and the planned opening ceremony in Ventspils on May 26, 2017.

Project “Production Facility of Capillary Tube Mats in Latvia”, id. No. NOFI/LV06/AK2/14, financing agreement No. NP-2015/24, is being implemented through a EUR 509,104 grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.
